Flipping is the lowest-risk way to make silver in Albion Online: buy an item where it's cheap and sell it where it's expensive. Here's how cross-city arbitrage and the Black Market actually work — and how to find profitable flips in seconds.
Every city in Albion — Caerleon, Bridgewatch, Lymhurst, Martlock, Fort Sterling, Thetford — has its own independent market. The same item can cost far more in one city than another because of local demand and what players happen to be selling. Flipping means buying low in one market and selling high in another, pocketing the difference minus tax. No combat, no gathering — just reading prices.
Two ways to flip
Cross-city arbitrage — buy in the cheap city, haul (or use the market) to the expensive city, and relist. The Flip Finder ranks every item by profit margin across city pairs.
Black Market flipping — Caerleon's Black Market buys gear from players and feeds mob/chest drops. When it pays more for an item than a city sells it for, you buy in the city and sell straight to the Black Market. The BM Flipper surfaces these.
The numbers that matter
A flip is only real if you account for the costs and the risk:
Sales tax & setup fee — selling costs 4% tax with Premium (8% without), plus a 2.5% listing fee on sell orders. The tool subtracts these so the margin you see is what you keep.
Instant sell vs sell order — dumping into existing buy orders is instant but pays less; posting a sell order pays more but takes time and risks being undercut. The tool shows both.
Freshness — prices come from players running data clients, so a price can be hours old. A stale "profit" may already be gone. Every flip shows how fresh its data is; filter out anything old.
Confidence — an item that's profitable in one scan but rarely otherwise is a trap. Confidence badges reflect how consistently a route has been profitable over the last 7 days, so you chase reliable flips, not one-off noise.
How to find flips fast
Open the Market Flipping tab and pick your buy/sell cities (or scan all).
Sort by margin, then filter by freshness so you only see live opportunities.
Check the confidence badge — prefer high-confidence, non-volatile routes.
For gear, check the Black Market Flipper — it's often the best sink for combat items.
